Various social research methods can be used in the field of social work. In this context, many data collection methods can be used in an expanded range from quantitative, qualitative or mixed research approaches and from questionnaires to action research. The aim of this study is to present the focus group interview technique, which is one of this wide range of research techniques, and to provide framework that is thought to support social work professionals and researchers in their research and practice. In this context, a literature review on focus group technique, its planning and implementation have been presented. In addition, information on the collection and the analysis of data from focus group interviews has been included. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of focus group interviews have been discussed.
